Principal's Corner

March 2009

From the Desk of Connie Angstadt

Dear Parents,

The students and faculty of Prince of Peace are settling into the Lenten season as we work together to become closer to God through our words and actions. This is the time we remember what we truly believe.  It is a time to listen in awe to God's promises. All grade levels will pray the Stations of the Cross throughout the Lenten season. I invite all families to attend services and pray the Stations with our children. If you are not able to attend Stations, please know that everyone is always welcome to join us for Liturgy on Friday mornings at 8:30.

Everyone at Prince of Peace is enjoying our new facility. The new cafeteria offers students spacious seating, creating more opportunity for children to spread their wings, and encouraging new friendships at lunchtime.  The Fine Arts room will allow for the continued growth of the art and music programs, nurturing the creativity in all children. Currently, the old cafeteria is being transformed into middle school classrooms and the old art room will become a multi-purpose room to be enjoyed by students of all ages.  It will also serve as the Spanish classroom.   Please plan to tour our new facility at the Open House, scheduled for Sunday, April 5th, after the 11:00 Mass.  Our students take great pride in their successes, and look forward to sharing their writing portfolios which will be on display during Open House.

Please keep our 8th grade students in your prayers as they prepare for Confirmation. Our students will take part in a Parish Retreat on March 29th, in preparation for Confirmation, April 17th.       Blessings, Connie Angstadt
